The Center has been designated in collaboration with the Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine as the Southern New Jersey Medication for Addiction Treatment Center of Excellence since 2019. This designation allows our team to offer education, mentoring, collaboration, and networking across the nine southern NJ counties: Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Mercer, Ocean, and Salem.

The Center for Healing places a strong emphasis on research and education and has been the subject of national and local media attention for its research into new care delivery models for patients with a substance use disorder. The Center regularly presents at national conferences including the American Society of Addiction Medicine Annual Conference and the Association for Multidisciplinary Education and Research in Substance use and Addiction Annual Conference.

Additionally, the Health Resources and Services Administration has funded an Addiction Medicine Fellowship program in the Center for Healing since 2020. This program has graduated 18 fellows as of 2024 and has received funding to support five fellows/year between 2025 and 2029.
