Our Research
Research in the Department of Family and Community Medicine
Our department is committed to advancing research in family medicine, with ongoing studies in clinical care, population health, and medical education.
Faculty and trainees are encouraged to participate in scholarly activities. All resident physicians participate in a personal research or scholarly project and a quality improvement initiative. We have obtained grants in reproductive health and HIV care to help support our communities and advance scholarship in our department.

Quality Improvement Projects
Current quality improvement efforts are focused on:
- Colon cancer screening
- Blood pressure control.
- Statin use in patients with diabetes.
- Kidney health evaluation.
